• Standard Bouins's Fluid for Fixation (good for months)
  
  

  Picric Acid, saturated aqueous solution	75 ml
  Buffered Formalin (about 37% formaldehyde)	25 ml
  (Glacial) Acetic Acid (about 18N)	5 ml

  • Saturated picric acid should be prepaired, at least, a several days before.
  • Buffered formalin
    
• Attaching Agent (Albmine-Grycerol) (good for 2 months)
  • Shake the white part of fresh eggs until a stiff foam is formed.
  • Filter the foam to get albmine fluid.
  • Add an equal volume of glycerol.
  • Add a small piece of thymol crystal as an preservative.

• Dehydration and Rehydration
  • 50%, 70%, 90%, 95% Ethanol solutions for the initial de/re-hydration
  • 50%, 70%, 90%, 100% Isopropanol for the final dehydration
    
• Pre-Treatment (Oxidating and Bleaching)
  • 0.2% Potassium permanganate (good for 1 day)
  • 2% Oxalic acid (good for 1 day)
    
• Protargol Staining
  • Developper (Good for several weeks)
    Dissolve the chemicals in the order.
    

    1. Sodium carbonate	4 g
    2. Sodium Sulfite	5 g
    3. Hydroquinone	1 g
    Dissolved into 100 ml

  • Enhancer (Lasts long)
    0.5 % Gold Chloride Solution
  • Fixative (Good for a month)
    5% Sodium Thiosulfate
